1. Equipment.
Day Rucksack
Warm Top /clothing (although shorts and a T-shirt is probably OK for during
the day),
Water activity gear (including shoes that can get wet) in a plastic bag
if you signed the Water Activities (MUST be able to Swim 50 metres &
tread water for 5 minutes) section
Waterproofs
Torch (preferably a head torch if you have one).
Knife fork and spoon and plate.
Hat and sun cream.
2. Uniform. No uniform, just black/dark Tshirt (if have one) and
your necker with a reef knot tied on the end.
3. Food. Please bring a packed lunch with you (and any homemade
cakes to share if possible). Saturday dinner will be provided. There will also
be an "Cafe" serving burgers, hotdogs, pizza etc which will cost £1.
Please also bring a named drinks bottle. There will be squash, tea and
coffee available throughout the day.
4. Money. In addition to the Cafe, there will be a Tuck Shop
available periodically, so please bring some pocket money.
5. Timings. We'll leave the St Luke's Church car park at 1000
Hrs on Saturday - please ensure that you arrive in sufficient time so that we
can get away on time.
There is transport for everyone going in the minibus and in a few extra
cars that are leaving at 1000 Hrs
Return journey will be leaving at around 2100 Hrs on Saturday, so maybe at
the Hall around 2200 Hrs. Please note that with 2800 people on site, and all
Beavers trying to leave at same time, I may not be able to stick to the return
timings. If there's going to be a significant delay I will try to get in touch
with you.
I have 3 extra cars on standby for the return journey I will inform if required by 2000
Hrs
6. Activities. I've reattached the initial leaflet that you'll
have already received from me, which details the activities that will be laid
on. Additionally, there's a St George's Day celebration on Sat evening
(2000hrs) followed by fireworks. There will be live music and a disco in the
evening.
7. Chief Scout. Bear Grylls, the Chief Scout, will arrive at some
stage during the event.
8. Contact Details. I have copies of the registration forms that
you gave me for your Scout to attend, together with your contact details on my
phone. If these have changed, or you think I ought to have an alternate for
this weekend, please let me know when you drop him/her/them off.
9. Medicines / Sun-tan lotion. If your Beaver(s) need to take
medication of any kind during the weekend, please ensure that they bring it with
them, and that you make me aware of it when you drop him/her/them off.
Please make sure that they bring sun-tan lotion at an appropriate SPF with
them.
